(My) Tarot PrinciplesTarot Principle #1 (Keyword: Individualistic)There is ~NO~ wrong way to do things when working with the tarot and the right way is YOUR way.Tarot Principle #2 (Keyword: Conscience)Do what your 'conscience and common sense' dictate! Hopefully both are good and decent ones.Tarot Principle #3 (Keyword: Responsibility)You alone are 'responsible' for your words and actions. Not the tarot cards, some unseen energy, or anything else is responsible for what you say and do. You alone as a tarot reader must take responsibility for all your words and actions.Tarot Principle #4 (Keyword: Learn)Assume ... and know that there will always be more to learn, not only when dealing with the tarot - but with everything in life. As soon as you think you know it all and stop learning - then you stop growing as a reader, and as a person.Tarot Principle #5 (Keyword: Patience!)Knowledge comes in its own good time. You will learn what you need to know - when you need to know it - and when you are ready for that knowledge. Don't rush things! Go with the motto: Time, Patience, and Persistence!Tarot Principle #6 (Keyword: Validity)If the tarot has any validity at all - then it can be used for any subject, and or type question. Including questions involving a simple Yes/No answer, health and medical type questions, and even lawsuit type questions. The one exception is lottery numbers - even if the reader could do this. Which in my opinion would be highly unlikely. See Tarot Principle #2.Tarot Principle #7 (Keywords: Never Underestimate)Never underestimate your mistakes (or anything else for that matter). There is a reason for everything - even your mistakes and booboo's - and they can be just as revealing as your successes.Tarot Principle #8 (Keywords: Open-Ended)There are few - to NO standards when dealing with the tarot. It is an open-ended occult practice - meaning just about anything goes and nothing is set in stone. This includes the number of cards in a tarot deck, the arrangement (order) of the cards, the card meanings, how to set the cards out, how to read the cards, and so on.Tarot Principle #9 (Keyword: Prejudice)Never read for someone you don't care for - or like. It will ALWAYS color the reading for the worse. Your negative prejudice for the person will always show through in the cards/reading.Tarot Principle #10 [Keywords - Confidence & Trust]Have confidence and trust in yourself and all will be well. Do what works for you and to hell with everything else!Tarot Principle #11 [Keyword - Separation]Keeping yourself, what you are feeling, what's going on in your life, and so on separate from readings is one of the toughest things a tarot reader needs to learn. Some never do - and some believe it's impossible to do. My only suggestions are to try doing breathing exercises and mediation before a reading to see if that helps to calm and center you.Don S. |

The Tarot Studies/Tarot Journeyman web site was created, written (mostly), and is copywritten by Donald W. Stephens. Anything on the site is free to use as long as it's source/author (me) is mentioned and it would be nice if you added the URL to the Tarot Studies web site as well. http://www.nodntap.net/tarot/. If you have a question, comment, suggestion, opinion, or find a problem on the Tarot Studies web site email me at nodntap@yahoo.com. Thanks for taking the time to stop and check out the Tarot Studies site, and a big thanks to all those who have helped me along the way and inspired me.
