Court Card Values

Question:
When adding up the numbers should page, knight, queen and king be set
to 0 or 11, 12, 13, 14 respectively?

Possible Answers:
The easiest way - and the way I presently do the courts - is to simply
give them no value - or a value of zero [0]. The reasoning behind this
is that in no tarot deck I have seen are the court cards numbered.

The second option is to continue the count as you have it above.

11 - Pages
12 - Knights
13 - Queens
14 - Kings

You could easily reverse the above order if that's what works for you.

11 - Kings
12 - Queens
13 - Knights
14 - Pages

3rd Option
You can also give the courts a value according to their rank.

1 - King
2 - Queen
3 - Knight
4 - Page

Again you could reverse the values, i.e. King = 4, Queen =3, etc.

4th Option
If I do happen to use values for the courts I normally use dual values
according to card and rank - or for numerology purposes I will simply
use the value of 6 for each and every court since the dual totals for
each court add up to 6.

11/4 - Pages [1+1+4=6]
12/3 - Knights [1+2+3=6]
13/2 - Queens [1+3+2=6]
14/1 - Kings [1+4+1=6]

5th Option
You could use the 'card counting values' for the courts as in card
counting and card pairing techniques.

Kings/Knights/Queens/Princes = 3
Pages/Princesses = 7

For card counting and card pairing see:

But the easiest way is to just give the court cards a value of zero
[0] for numerology purposes. But try a couple of different methods
to see what works for you.
