AC - See Crowley
Action Card or AC - A card drawn at the end of a reading. This card will suggest a concrete action that the querent can take that will help their situation. It may involve others or it may simply be a way that they can nurture themselves until their difficulty ends. Not every situation can be changed, but sometimes just having something constructive to do in the meantime can be a great anxiety reliever.
AoC or 2oC - as in Ace of Cups, 2 of Cups etc.
AEW - Arthur Edward Waite the designer of the Rider-Waite deck and a member of the Golden Dawn.
ATA - American Tarot Association
BB - Big Book that either comes with a boxed set which includes cards and a book, or a book that is bought separately.
BOTA or Bota or B.O.T.A. - Builders of the Adytum. A Non-Profit Corporation Based on the Mystical-Occult Teachings and Practices of the Holy Qabalah and Sacred Tarot - started by Paul Foster Case.
BOT - Book of Thoth by Aleister Crowley
Boxed Set or BS - A tarot deck that comes with a book that is larger than the little white book that comes with just a deck of tarot cards [see LWB].
Clarifying Card(s) - A card or cards drawn in order to glean more information, usually about another card (often used with court cards).
CC - Celtic Cross Spread
CLC or CC - Clarifying Card or Cards. See 'Clarifying Card(s)'.
Correspondences - Other systems of divination that are matched to a card as in Astrology, Runes, I -Ching, Hebrew Alphabet, Kabbalah, and any number of other systems. Example: The High Priestess card corresponds to the Moon (not the card), Perth, & Gimel, Path 13 on the Tree of Life (ToL).
Crowley or AC - Aleister Crowley the designer of the Thoth deck and author of many books - including the Book of Thoth, (See - Uncle Al ).
CT - Comparative Tarot when you do a reading using additional decks as
a comparison (also the nick name for the Comparative Tarot Yahoo group).

DM or DM's - Divinatory Meaning or Divinatory Meanings for the tarot cards [as well as other things].
ED or ED's - Elemental Dignities (doing a reading based on how strong or weak a card is depending on the surrounding elements of the cards)
GD or Golden Dawn - an esoteric group. During the time period of 1888 to 1903 the group had it's heyday with members like Waite, Mathers, and Crowley. The group still exists but is only a meager shadow of what it once was.
HR Deck - The Hanson-Roberts deck by Mary Hanson-Roberts.
ID - Ill-dignified (used when reading elemental dignities - see ED's). Example: The Lovers [ID].
IMO or imo - In My Opinion
Kabbalah, kabala, kabalah, qabalah, qabala, cabala, cabbala, kaballah,
kabbala, kaballah, and qabbala - A body of mystical teachings of
rabbinical origin, often based on an esoteric interpretation of the Hebrew
Scriptures.

LWB - The little white book (or pamphlet) that comes with most decks.
OOP - Out of Print
OZ or OZT Deck - Osho Zen Tarot Deck

Pixie Smith - Pamela Coleman-Smith, artist of the Rider-Waite deck, [See: RW and RWS deck].
PKT - the book, 'The Pictorial Key to the Tarot' by Arthur Edward Waite. See RW and RWS.
PoP, KnoW, QoS, KoC, 7oS - Shorthand for Page of Pentacles, Knight of Wands, Queen of Swords, King of Cups, 7 of Swords, etc. Any pip or court can be designated thusly.
Poppers or Jumpers - Cards that fall out, fly out, or pop out of the deck while shuffling and cutting. Some people read these cards because they believe they are meaningful - others [like me] just stick them back into the deck because they believe they are meaningless.
POV or pov - Point of View

RRWT or RRW - The 'Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot' deck. A

RW - The Rider Waite deck. Rider was the original publisher of the book, Arthur Edward Waite designed the deck, and Pamela Coleman-Smith drew the deck with the guidance of Arthur Waite. Same as RWS.
RWS - The Rider-Waite-Smith deck. This is just another name for the RW [Rider-Waite] deck. 'Rider' was the original publisher of the deck, Waite is for Arthur Edward 'Waite' who directed the designing of the deck, and Pamela Coleman-'Smith' who designed and drew the deck with the guidance of Waite. Same as RW.
Rx - Reversed Card - when a card comes out upside down. Example: The Lovers [Rx].
Significator - A card chosen to represent the seeker/querent. This card is often a court card (but not always) that best exemplifies the seeker's persona.
Small Press (or Self Published) - A printing of a deck that is not mass marketed. You won't find it in your local bookstore, or most likely won't... although we did have a discussion on what exactly small press was, I tend to think that's how this term is used.
Spread - The way the tarot cards are set out in order to perform a tarot reading. Usually - but not always - each place/position in the spread/layout has a meaning.
